Shannon Rankin

I've seen Shannon Rankin's work here and there on Tumblr and absolutely loved her use of maps and materials, mostly because, well, I love maps. Aesthetically. And otherwise. But when I found her artist statement, I loved her work even more.

While bearing traces of the original form, I deconstruct maps to create new geographies, suggesting the potential for a broader landscape.

That's it. Plain and simple. And beautiful.

Find more of Shannon's work on her website, for sale in her Etsy shop, and behind the scenes looks on her blog and her Flickr
