I had to share this.

It made me giggle.

Found here.

Poor Stella.

Dear Stella (my studio computer),
I am sorry for nearly killing you with all my demands. I will try to be more patient. But not much more. I do have deadlines, you know. I'll let you take a little nap while I go on Chloe (my laptop) and find some lovely inspiration. But only for a little while. I have a lot more animating, editing, and rendering to do. I need to get my Vimeo & MyFolio sites up & running.
Love, Michaela

Someday, I will go to France and visit the Louvre and some fields of lavender.

I can't wait to ride my bicycle to the flea market and library.

I think I would like this store a great deal.

My boyfriend always sings this song to me. Usually right before he buys me something. Hehe.

There's something about the text in silent films that I find absolutely beautiful.

Especially those about a certain Miss Alice.

These roses are exquisite.

I don't think I have my head in the clouds quite this often.

I can't wait until the semester's over and I have more time to collage.

I don't think I'd mind discovering this in the forest.

This photo is magical.

This may be why it takes me so long to get dressed in the morning.

I hope you enjoyed these as much as I did. Hopefully Stella will behave better now. Oh well, it's not her fault she's a PC.

Goodnight.

Super short animation from the day I deleted half of it in class. Oops. Anyway, my goal is to be in bed by midnight. It's 11:59 right now. I'll share something more interesting tomorrow, after I catch up on sleep.

Render, render, render.

It's a little irritating. Rendering, that is. I've been trying to render out pretty much everything so that it can go on my Vimeo and MyFolio accounts. They've been sadly neglected. But my goal is to have everything updated this weekend. Which means that right now, my life consists of "File>Import>Open; Command+M; Best Settings>Custom; Lossless>H.264; Render." And then waiting. And then checking the file size. And then doing it all over again.

I have so many more things I could be doing instead of staring at my screen in anticipation. But I can't really render one After Effects file while working on another. My computer wouldn't be too pleased.

I really don't know what to do with myself. Especially since I can't finish my website until my videos are smaller files. I hate this stage. So that's how I end up on Blogger.

Anyway, rather than continuing to ramble on about how completely bored I am right now, I thought I might share something that I made while bored in another class. My friend Dorian even got in on it this time. Oh, and it was made on Liz's birthday.

And in case you were wondering, those are the sounds of Phil Collins + Nsync for the Tarzan soundtrack. Excellent music choice, I know.

These are charming.

Drawings and illustrations by Julie Morstad. She's quite wonderful, don't you think?

New Goals

1. Continue to be productive during Writing for Art & Design Professionals. See above.

2. Spend absolutely as little time as possible on one of my projects. Pretty much exactly what my teacher told me. Otherwise, I will end up killing myself with the amount of work I do. It's bad when you're zoomed in so far on a timeline that you can only view 4 frames at a time. This is gonna be hard.

3. Write at least half of my art history paper over the weekend. I've yet to read any of the books or journals or other sources I've accumulated. It was due a week from today. Thank God for the extension.

4. Animate some clocks tonight.

5. Clean out the installation space.

6. Motion masking marathon tonight! The goal for today is a 2 second clip of a dancer, and one interview for my documentary.

7. Try not to have a heart attack before my next unbirthday.

Ps. I've been brainstorming design ideas for making buttons (the little circular pins) for another project. And I have some really good ideas. Anyone wanna buy me my own button maker?

If...

I won $1 Million, I would

1) Pay off my student loans and save a set amount to pay for the rest of my education/room & board and a little bit of money for after school.
2) Set up savings accounts for each of my siblings so they would have a bit of a start towards their tuition. But I wouldn't pay for everything. They'll appreciate it more working for it.
3) Save a little more.
4) Buy a new lens for my camera.
5) Buy Adobe CS5 Production Premium (when it comes out in a week or so).
6) Buy a nicer tripod.
7) Buy a copy stand.
8) Buy either iStopMotion Pro or Dragon Stop Motion.
9) Buy a button maker.
10) Buy Fantastic Mr. Fox on DVD, as well as a bunch of Disney Platinum Editions.
12) Save some money for future plane tickets.
13) Give the rest to my parents. I don't really need anything else.

I didn't have to worry about deadlines, I would

1) Print off a whole bunch of Disney coloring pages right now.
2) Draw a bunch of coloring books for Mia.
3) Embroider.
4) Do a hand-drawn rotoscope.
5) Lie in the grass.
6) Visit my family.
7) Sew something.
8) Crochet a bunch of headbands.
9) Go downtown for a day. Probably to the library for a while.
10) Take a nap.
11) Eat regularly.
12) Make pixilations all day long.

BUT,
I don't have a million bucks. And I do have deadlines that keep getting closer and closer. So it's back to After Effects. I'm almost done with a big chunk of my (main) animation! I will feel much better at that point. And my website's looking pretty spiffy.
