Collages by Anthony Zinonos
I like collages that tell a story. Or hint at a story. I like these stories told by Anthony Zinonos. Especially the last one.

Why don't I live in New York?
"Throughout 4 floors and 90,000 sq. ft. of retail space, there are 151 fitting rooms, 32 cash registers, a genuine NYC taxi cab (yes, inside the store), an oversized tree house, a room covered in gold studs and a giant LCD billboard outside where the models on screen interact with onlookers—literally."
Oh yeah. Because I would spend all of my money at the new Forever 21 in Times Square. Actually, I would be scrambling to pay the rent more so than I already do, and walking by my favorite store that has a tree house inside would only depress me.
Collages by Alexis Anne Mackenzie
This is one beautiful mess, in my opinion. And from this mess, you can imagine that some incredibly intricate and absolutely beautiful collages are created. Alexis Anne Mackenzie has been collecting books for years, and from these pages, she hand cuts specific images to create new compositions that I am completely in love with. Her artist statement says that the purpose of her work is"to portray the world as a flawed thing of beauty - a place that shines brightly, but has a dark side to match."
These are just a few of my favorites, but you can see more of Alexis's work on her website and her Flickr, and read about her process on her blog Cocoon Balloon.

I just bought a plane ticket!
And of course, there's always that feeling of remorse when you spend that kind of money. But that goes away when I remember that I get to see this boy at the end of summer. You know, when we first started dating, plane tickets from DTW to CHS were closer to the $250 range. And now, they're about a hundred more, and that's with at least one stop. AND you have to pay to check baggage. Which means that we don't get to see each other as much since we have to save our pennies for school.
I haven't seen him since January. You bet I'm excited.

Happy Father's Day!
Especially since my dad had been swearing up and down that he was gonna kill himself moving me into my new apartment. But he survived & made it to Father's Day. So now he constantly holds it above my head that I had to go and pick a 4th floor apartment in a building with no elevator. I like to think of it as physical activity encouragement.

Oh Bambi...
I have a secret. I've become slightly less than obsessed with Glee. I don't know what happened. Mia & I were hanging out and checking Hulu. I saw an episode with Lady Gaga, whom Mia loves. And the next thing I know, I'm searching the interwebs for videos. I'm officially caught up with the whole season now. And I kind of really want it on dvd. Is that bad? I forgot how good tv could be. Ha! Plus, it's a nice break from watching CSI all the time. A little more cheerful. And now I'm not having crazy dreams of getting packages of body parts via UPS. Instead, I have Journey and Lady Gaga permanently stuck in my head, a fair trade.
I think my two favorite characters are Brittany, who's as dumb as a rock, and Kurt, who's fabulous. And I love Emma. Especially her clothes. And Rachel's clothes a lot of the time. And this is my absolute favorite moment of the whole season. Ohhhh, Bambi. Ha!
